Ruben W. Kind

Ruben W. Kind, age 91, of West Bend, was born to eternal rest on Friday May 4, 2007 at his home after a short battle with cancer.

He was born on April 8, 1916 in Columbus to the late Herman and Ida (nee Moersfelder) Kind. At a young age Ruben moved with his family to West Bend, and he graduated from West Bend High School in the class of 1933.

Ruben learned photography and opened his own studio in West Bend. On April 27, 1941 he was united in marriage to Ella Oelhafen at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, West Bend. In 1943 Ruben answered the call to serve his country and served in the United States Navy during WW II. After the war he returned to West Bend and the Kind Studio, which he operated until 1965. He then worked at the West Bend Company until his retirement in 1981. His loving wife Ella preceded him in death in 1999.

Ruben was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. He enjoyed his family and Fishing.

He is survived by three children, Carole (Roman) Breit, Richard (Sharon) Kind, and Ronald (Evea) Kind; four grandchildren, Cindy (Roger) Skibinski, Robert (Amy) Kind, Tracy (Arnold) Morales, and Kelly Kind; six great-grandchildren, Brian and Kyle Skibinski, Haley and Ally Kind, Madison Kind, and Joey Morales; a step-great-grandson, Naldito Morales; a sister-in-law, Minnie Justman of West Bend; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two infant sons, Robert and Kenneth.

A memorial service for Ruben was held on Thursday May 17th at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, for those who loved him and showed it. Burial of his cremated remains followed in Washington County Memorial Park.
