Ruby A. Hohlweck, 96, of West Bend, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2015, at St. Joseph's Hospital in the town of Polk.
She was born on July 8, 1918, in the town of Wayne, the daughter of the late Philip and Emma (Hembel) Menger. On July 1, 1944, Ruby was united in marriage to Carl Hohlweck at Salem United Church of Christ in Wayne.
Ruby was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Wayne where she taught Sunday school and vacation bible school. She served on the ladies guild and in the church choir for many years and was also a leader in the Wayne 4-H crusaders. Ruby enjoyed cooking, playing bingo, card and dice games, and traveling.
Those Ruby leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband, Carl; four daughters, Carol (Bill) Butzlaff of Kewaskum, Judith (Duane) Sabish of Campbellsport, Joanne (Gene) Schuppel of Kohlsville and Joy (Dan) Kudek of West Bend; a brother-in-law, Chester Shevey of West Bend; seven grandchildren, William (Debbie) Butzlaff, Brian (Debbie) Butzlaff, Steven (Luan) Sabish, Lisa (Tim) Schraufnagel, Melissa Schuppel-Riley, Michael Schuppel and Amy Schuppel (fiancé, Chad); 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by a brother, Fritz Menger; a sister, Ruth Rauch Klein; two sisters-in-law, Lucetta "Lucy" Menger and Elizabeth Shevey and two brothers-in-law, Ewald Rauch and Kenneth Klein.
Funeral services for Ruby will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2015, at Salem United Church of Christ in Wayne. Pastor Ruth Hansen will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Ruby's family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Salem United Church of Christ are appreciated.
The Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum has been entrusted with Ruby's arrangements.
Ruby's family extends their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Weber and nurse Sandy; to the care givers and team members, who she had a special love for at the Lighthouse in West Bend; Chris and her daschunds, Noodles and Tater, for their special visits.
