Ruth A. Bruce, 76, of the town of Auburn, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2010, at her home with her family at her side.
She was born on June 30, 1934, in Montello, the daughter of the late Walter and Edna (Bornick) Flynn and on December 28, 1973, she was united in marriage to Douglas Bruce at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Franklin. Her husband preceded her in death on October 5, 2006.
Ruth was employed by Wisconsin Electric, retiring in 1988, after over 30 years of service. She earned a master’s degree in communications at U. W. Milwaukee and was an active member of St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum and a Rotarian.
Those Ruth leaves behind to cherish her memory include four children, Shirley (Richard) Schulz of East Falmouth, Massachusetts, William (Nancy) Jensen of West Bend, Jolee (Paul) Hoffmann of Port Washington and Elaine (Keith) Springer of the town of Auburn; a sister, Jean (Richard) Ziebell of Montello; eight grandchildren, Stacy Schulz, Kevin (Erin) Schulz, Adam Jensen, Marc (Sabrina) Hoffmann, Jamie Hoffmann, Matthew (Laura) Hoffmann, Shannon (Mike) Hendricks and Nichole Springer; five great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service for Ruth was held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 16, 2010, at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1417 Parkview Drive, Kewaskum with Rev. Timothy Henning officiating.
Ruth’s family received visitors at a luncheon following the service.
