Ruth E. Giese, 85, of Theresa, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2010, at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home in Fond du Lac.
She was born on October 12, 1925, in the town of Herman, the daughter of the late William and Esther (Justman) Ehlers.
Ruth was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Theresa and the Ladies Aid. She was a devoted mother who catered her children to many activities during their younger years and was a devoted daughter who cared for her mother. She was a 4-H leader and an avid Milwaukee Brewer fan.
Those Ruth leaves behind to cherish her memory include five sons, Wayne (Leslie) Giese of Morganton, North Carolina, David (Diane) Giese of Byron, Glen (Teresa) Giese and Stan (Margaret) Giese both of Valdese, North Carolina and Curtis (Wendy) Giese of Byron; two brothers, William (Grace) Ehlers of Beaver Dam and Delbert Ehlers of Mayville, 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by a daughter, Gloria Kuhn; a son, Gerald Giese; a granddaughter, Jillian Giese; three brothers, Myron, Merlin and Carrol Ehlers and a sister, Laverne Ehlers.
Funeral services for Ruth were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 113 E. Bonduel Street in Theresa. Rev. Jon Learman officiated and burial followed in Union Cemetery in Theresa.
Relatives and friends called on Tuesday at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to St. Peter Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Home and Health Services Inc.
The Kietzer-Miller Funeral Home in Lomira was entrusted with Ruth’s arrangements.
Ruth’s family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of the Lutheran Home and Agnesian Hospice Hope for the tender, compassionate care provided to Ruth.
