Ruth M. Hackbarth, nee von Bargen, 90, of West Bend, WI, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at the Aurora Medical Center in Hartford, WI.
She was born September 18, 1921 Dubuque, IA to the late Henry and Emma (nee Kerth) von Bargen. She was united in marriage to the Rev. Victor Hackbarth on February 10, 1940 in Dubuque, IA.
Ruth was an ever dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She had deep faith in the Lord and was involved in many church activities including teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir. She loved nature and enjoyed gardening vegetables and flowers.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Victor Hackbarth; four children, Donald Hackbarth of Nevada, IA, Judith (David) Holmes of Wauwatosa, WI, Jane (Erwin) Moses of Fort Mitchell, KY, and David (Nancy) Hackbarth of Fond du Lac, WI; five grandchildren, Julie Moses, Stephanie (Barry) Ko, Matthew (Julie) Moses, Aaron Hackbarth, and Brent Holmes; three great-grandchildren, Madeline Ko, Ava Hackbarth, and Emily Hackbarth; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, James Richard Hackbarth, and a sister, Katherine Bregman.
Funeral services in remembrance of Ruth will be held on Sunday, August 19 at 3:00 p.m. at Our Savior's Ev. Lutheran Church, 1044 Silverbrook Dr., West Bend, WI. Rev. Darrin Wiebe will officiate and burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Lebanon, WI . Visitation will be at the church on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Our Savior's Ev. Lutheran Church are appreciated.
