Ruth H. Muckerheide, (nee Hatzung) age 81, of West Bend, passed away Monday, July 13, 2009 at Kathy Hospice.
She was born on August 16, 1927 on the family farm in the town of Addison to the late Louis and Anna Hatzung. Ruth graduated from West Bend High School in the class of 1945. She married Leroy Muckerheide on October 8, 1949 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum.
Ruth was a life member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. She worked for the West Bend Company for 35 years and was a member of their 25 year club before retiring in 1983. Ruth enjoyed playing cards and traveling. She loved to spend winters in California and time up north at the cabin.
She is survived by her husband, Leroy; sister, Mardell Watzlawick of West Bend; brother-in-law, Leander Willkomm of West Bend; sister-in-law, Marion Muckerheide of Kewaskum; her special niece, Sheila (Dennis) Stahnke of West Bend; two nieces, Janyce Weaver of McFarland and Lori (Daniel) Montaine of Grafton; three nephews, Kenneth (Dorothy) Willkomm of Rochester, MN, Robert (Gayle) Willkomm of New Berlin, WI and Alan Willkomm of Rockford, IL; great niece and great nephew, Melissa and Ryan Stahnke; other relatives and friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Bernice Willkomm and Esther David; brother, Arthur Hatzung and nephew, Thomas Watzlawick.
Funeral services in remembrance of Ruth will be held on Monday, July 20th at 12:00 p.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church (809 S. 6th Avenue) West Bend. Rev. Jeff Dorth and Rev. Rob Donaldson will officiate. Entombment will follow the service in Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation will take place on Sunday, July 19th at the Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral Home (1315 W. Washington Street) West Bend, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and again at the church on Monday, July 20th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
