Ruth W. Myrhum, 86, of West Bend, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2012, at The Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk with her family by her side.
Ruth was born on February 25, 1926, in La Crosse, the daughter of the late Arnold and Leona (Bartz) Weber, and on December 1, 1945, she was united in marriage to Ole Myrhum at English Lutheran Church in La Crosse. Together they moved to West Bend in 1950.
She was a member and Past Matron of the West Bend Chapter #73, Order of Eastern Star, Adrian Neubauer V.F.W. Post #8658 Ladies Auxiliary. Ruth enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge and sheepshead, knitting, reading and traveling. Ruth also enjoyed spending winters at Seven Lakes Golf and Tennis Club in Fort Meyers FL for the past 25 years. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include three children, James (Jacqueline) Myrhum of West Bend, Charles Myrhum of West Bend and Susan (Steven) Volm of Kewaskum; six grandchildren, Laura (Paul) Urbaniak of New Berlin, Jamie (Tracey) Myrhum, Rebecca (Richard Haughton) Myrhum, Sara (fiancAC.e, Paul Roemer) Myrhum, and Matthew (Nicole) Myrhum all of West Bend and Steven (Nicole Shoppach) Volm Jr. of Kewaskum; seven great-grandchildren, Adam Urbaniak, Jacob, Grace and Lily Myrhum, Richard and Samantha Haughton, and Nathan Myrhum; a sister, Elizabeth (Theodore) Jacobson of Racine; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Weber of Indian Hill Park, IL; a cousin, Carol Dobrunz of Menomonee, as well as other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Ole, and a brother, Robert Weber.
Eastern Star services in remembrance of Ruth will be held on Friday, December 28, at 1:30 p.m. with a funeral service immediately following at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home in West Bend. Pastor Bill Dushek will officiate and burial will follow in Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from noon until the time of service.
Memorials to the Shrine Hospital or the American Red Cross are appreciated by the family.
