Ruth Raether

Ruth L. Raether (nee Maurer), age 83, of West Bend, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Ivy Manor in Campbellsport.

She was born on September 19, 1926 in West Bend to the late Carl and Mathilda (nee Marx) Maurer. On June 10, 1948, Ruth was united in marriage to Lester Raether. Lester preceded her in death on July 20, 2000.

Ruth worked as a product inspector for Regalware for 19 years until she retired in 1985. She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in the town of Wayne. She also worked as a cook at Beechwood Rest Home. Ruth enjoyed cake decorating, crocheting, making ceramics, reading, being outdoors and traveling.

She is survived by her four children, Dale (Cathy) Raether of Campbellsport, Steven (Patty) Raether of Campbellsport, Carol (Dennis) Pusch of Kewaskum and Karen (Kevin)Kerr of Ogema; daughter-in-law, Michelle Raether of West Bend; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Meeks, Michael (Rebecca) Raether, Daniel Raether, Melissa Madriaga, Tamara (Rob) Preuss, Tara (fiancAC. Timothy Puestow) Pusch, Nicole and Chasity Kerr; 13 great-grandchildren, Zoey, Tanner, Blake, Erika, Johanna, Ava, Steven, Dakota, Desiree, Isaiah, Kyle, Natasha and Alyssa; special friend, Ed Stern of West Bend; nieces; nephews; other relatives and dear friends.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester; her son, Robert Raether; her great-granddaughter, Angel; her two sisters, Marie Berres and Floretta (Leo) Brunner; and her brother, Leroy Maurer.

Funeral services in remembrance of Ruth will be held on Wednesday, February 3rd at 5:30 pm at Salem United Church of Christ with Rev. Dan Schultz officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 3:30 pm until the time of the services. Entombment will take place Thursday, February 4th at 11:00 am in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum located in Ledgeview Memorial Park in Fond du Lac.
