Ruth L. (Wesenberg) Eggert, age 91 of Cedar Grove, formerly of Kewaskum, died on Monday, September 22, 2014, at Cedar Grove Gardens Assisted Living in Cedar Grove, WI.
She was born in Fond du Lac County on January 8, 1923, the daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Dorn) Wesenberg, and on June 22, 1946, Ruth was united in marriage to George E. Eggert, Jr. at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum.
Ruth was employed at Amity, Enger Kress, and retired from Regal Ware, Inc. in Kewaskum. Ruth worked as a waitress, was a member of the Regal Ware 25-Year Club, St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kewaskum, the Ladies Guild, was a Sunday School teacher and a member of the XYZ Senior Citizens.
Ruth enjoyed her retirement years spending time with her family. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Her love and care given to her husband over the years was never ending for 65 years. There was a special place in her heart for her two grandchildren who both brought a smile to her face whenever she saw them or talked about them. Ruth always looked forward to going on family trips, went to many dances with her husband and just spending time with family and friends.
Those Ruth leaves behind to cherish her memory include her two children, her daughter, Mary (Gerald) Hammen of Plymouth and her son, George III (Cynthia) Eggert of Kewaskum; two grandchildren, Jason Eggert (special friend, Tina Knaus) and Michael Eggert both of Kewaskum; a sister-in-law, Doris Wesenberg of Kewaskum, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents, Albert and Mary (Dorn) Wesenberg; her husband's parents, George, Sr. and Esther (Beck) Eggert; her brothers, Albert (Irene Hinn) Wesenberg, Fred Wesenberg Sr., her twin brother Robert (Franceilia) Wesenberg and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harold (Esther) Eggert, other nephews, nieces and relatives.
A celebration of Ruth's life was at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2014, at St. Lucas Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1417 Parkview Drive, Kewaskum with the Rev. Timothy Henning officiating.
Family and friends called at the church on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services. Burial was at 10:00 a.m. on Friday in Lutheran Memorial Park in Kewaskum.
A memorial fund has been established in Ruth's name to St. Lucas Lutheran School Roof.
The Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum was entrusted with Ruth's arrangements.
The family would like to thank Dr. Gary Priesler for his years of care, Rev. Timothy Henning and Rev. Troy Swenson for visits and prayers, the staff at Cedar Grove Gardens and the Heartland Hospice Team.
