Sandy Dreikosen

September 7, 1957 — September 2, 2024

Sandra “Sandy” Dreikosen (Bowen), age 66, was called home to be with the Lord on September 2, 2024, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on September 7, 1957, in Germany to Robert “Bob” and Isolde “Sue” Bowen (Kaiser). Sandy was united in marriage to Alan Dreikosen on August 27, 1977, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lomira.

Sandy graduated from Lomira High School. She was a CNA working for nursing homes, then went on to attend Moraine Park Technical College and earned a degree in Nursing.  Sandy was a Licensed Practical Nurse for the remainder of her career.

When Sandy was relaxing in the serenity of nature, where she would go camping and fishing, she was in her element. She also enjoyed the challenge of board games, like Scrabble or Cribbage, and spending time with those she loved most while playing – or heading to the casino to try her luck on those games. Sandy enjoyed her Friday fish fry (especially when it was accompanied by a cocktail), and attending crafting workshops with her daughter.

Sandy would pull out all the stops when it came to the holidays; she loved the 4th of July and the fireworks displays, and putting all her ornaments in the exact right place on her Christmas tree (and yes, there was a right place). Sandy especially enjoyed the holidays because it allowed her to show her love through her delicious baking.

Sandy’s family always thought of her as the best listener, natural-born caretaker, and the most supportive wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister anyone could have.

Left behind to remember these qualities include her husband, Alan; her mother, Sue Bowen; two children, Sarah (Bill) Dreikosen-Kort and Lee (Stacy) Dreikosen; grandchildren, Emily, Alaina, Blake, Genevieve, and Gilbert; sister, Mary Tank; brother, Jim (Susanne) Bowen; and brother-in-law, John (Gail) Dreikosen; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Sandy was preceded in death by her son, Karl Dreikosen; father, Bob Bowen; sister, Nancy Hansen; in-laws, Marv Dreikosen, Betty and Jerry Norenberg; and niece, Jamie Dreikosen.

VISITATION & SERVICE:  Sandy’s family will greet relatives and friends on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Myrhum-Patten Funeral & Cremation Service (350 Main Street – Lomira, WI  53048).  There will be a Prayer Service at 3:45 p.m.
