Sarah Jean Hollyfield, (nee Peterson), 36, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital, West Bend.
She was born on June 6, 1978 in Menomonee Falls to James and Rhonda (nee Christian) Peterson. She graduated from Slinger High School in 1996 and then attended UW-Oshkosh where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work.
Sarah always lived in the moment and had a witty sense of humor. She had a passion for music, reading, sewing, cooking, and gardening and enjoyed working on an organic farm. Sarah's biggest love was her daughter, Zora. She was a wonderful mother and devoted her life to her daughter.
She is survived by her daughter, Zora Jean Hollyfield; parents, Jim and Rhonda Peterson; sisters, Jenny (Kevin) Ruffing, and Jamie (fiancAC. Matthew Colvin) Peterson; nieces and nephews, Jackson, Addison (Goddaughter),and Charlotte Ruffing; grandmothers, Darlene Christian and Janice Peterson; aunts and uncles, Denise (Glenn) Bonlender, Godfather Dean (Polly) Christian, Renee (Roger) Hamm, Godmother Donna (Mike Bergmann) Scherr, Laura Bertrand, and Sue (Brian) Clement; cousins, Chad, Cory, and Kayla Bonlender, Casey and Kyle Christian, Stephanie, Kelly, and Brian Hamm, Mandy, Carrie, and Brad Scherr, Jeff and Jessica Bertrand, Leslie and Allison Clement; other relatives and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Ronald "Papa" Christian and Lester Peterson.
A funeral service in remembrance of Sarah will be held on Friday, December 5 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 4860 Arthur Rd., Slinger. Rev. Matthew Short will officiate and burial will follow in Union Cemetery in the village of Slinger. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, a college fund for Zora has been established at First National Bank of Hartford. Donations to "Zora Hollyfield" would be greatly appreciated.
