Shirley "Tonie" Lange, age 76, of West Bend, passed away after a long battle with heart disease on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Cedar Lake Health Care Center in West Bend.
She was born on October 28, 1933 in Oshkosh to the late Harold and Martha (nee Ott) Fischer. On June 21, 1952, she was united in marriage to James Carl Lange. Jim preceded her in death on August 31, 1985.
Tonie as she was known to everyone, was a people person. In 1970, Tonie and Jim owned the Pen and Hammer Club, later known as the Outlet Pub until it sold in 1985. Tonie also worked at the Poorman's Club, later called Mirror Image until she retired in 1990.
She volunteered for Puppy Land, was a member of the board for Friends for Abused Families and was very active at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Tonie is survived by two daughters, Chris (Dave) Kocher of West Bend and Susie (Bill) Kocher of Campbellsport; Mom loved telling everyone that her daughters married two brothers; one beautiful granddaughter, Rachel (Mike) Thomas of Milwaukee; and the love of her life, her great-granddaughter "baby dumpling" Allie. Along with many friends and loved ones.
Funeral services in remembrance of Shirley will be held on Wednesday, February 10 at 1:00 pm. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 140 N. 7th Avenue, West Bend. Rev. David Schoob will officiate. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 am. until the time of service. Inurnment will be in Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend.
The family would like to extend a warm thank you to all the doctors and nurses at St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee and Aurora Medical Center in Hartford and most of all to the wonderful loving angels at Cedar Community that cared for mom.
