Siegfried "Zeke" Wuensch

February 12, 1937 — November 28, 2013

Siegfried "Zeke" Wuensch, 76, of Mayville, formerly of West Bend, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013 at the Mayville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on February 12, 1937 in Nuenchritz, Germany to the late Ernst and Erna (nee Rudolph) Wuensch. He grew up in West Bend and graduated from West Bend High School in 1956. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea and after returning, he lived in the town of Wayne for many years. Recently he resided at the Mayville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

He was employed as an iron worker for many years and was a member of Local Iron Workers #8. He enjoyed gardening and building many things.

He is survived by two sons, Matthew (Jennifer) Wuensch of Kewaskum and Tony (Jennifer) Wuensch of Kewaskum; a brother-in-law, Fred (Nancy) Berndt of Hartford; a niece, Julie Berndt; two nephews, Jim Berndt and Jason Berndt; his former wife, Joy Kilby (nee Ripple); other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ruth Berndt; and a nephew, Jeff Berndt.

A funeral service in remembrance of Zeke will be held on Saturday, December 7 at 2:00 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Cremation will follow the service and the cremated remains will be buried in Fillmore Union Cemetery.
