Steve J. Rossman Sr., age 90, of West Bend, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, at the home of his daughter, on Friday July 5, 2013.
He was born on July 24, 1922 in Milwaukee to the late Joseph and Eva (nee Gasner) Rossman Sr., and moved with his family to West Bend in 1929. On May 5, 1945 Steve was united in marriage to Ann Furger at Holy Angels Catholic Church in West Bend. She preceded him in death on November 29, 1997. Steve was employed for 38 years at Pick Manufacturing (Parker-Hannifin).
Steve was a member of St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in West Bend, the St. Joseph Society, a member and past president of the Allied Industrial Workers Union local # 632. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, and was a huge sports fan, following the Chicago Bears, and Chicago Cubs.
In addition to being a devoted and loving husband, Steve and Ann cherished their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Steve valued the many friendships he made throughout his almost 91 years.
Steve was known for his warm smile and friendly demeanor. Most of all friends and family were touched by his endless expressions of gratitude and appreciation. Steve was a gentle, kind, loving, sweet and godly father.
Not that long ago family and friends often benefited from their HUGE vegetable garden. Steve and Ann took pride in growing all those vegetables so they could deliver many, many fresh vegetable gift baskets.
Steve is survived by his three children, Jean (Russell) Lange of West Bend, Pat (Tom) Meisenheimer of West Bend, and Steve (Lynn) Rossman Jr. of Brookfield; eight grandchildren, Brad (Velvet) Lange, Shelly (Dean) Urmanski, Michael Meisenheimer, Matthew Meisenheimer, Joseph Rossman, Steve Rossman III, Ashley Rossman, and Katelyn Rossman; four great-grandchildren, Hunter Lange, Hailey Lange, Max Urmanski, and Jack Urmanski; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Ann; three sisters and their spouses, Kathryn & Charles LaBracke, Evelyn & Lester Ensenbach, Elizabeth & Bob Noegel; two brothers and their spouses, Joseph & Jeanette Rossman, Frank & Dorothy Gasner.
A Mass of Christian Burial in remembrance of Steve will be held on Wednesday July 10th at 7:00 pm at Holy Angels Catholic Church (138 N. 8th. Ave.) West Bend. Rev. Jerry Repenshek will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday at the church from 4:00 pm until the time of Mass. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery on Thursday at 9:00 am.
