Steven G. Zehren

November 2, 1959 — November 24, 2024

Steven G. Zehren, 65, of Kewaskum, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at his home with his family at his side.

Steve entered the world on November 2, 1959, in the town of West Bend, born to the late Florentine “Stoney” and Dorothy (née Neumann) Zehren. On a beautiful day, May 31, 1980, he exchanged vows with Sandy Volm at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Wayne, marking the beginning of a wonderful journey together.

For nearly two decades, Steve dedicated himself to the Kewaskum School District, where he earned the affectionate titles of "Papa" or "Grandpa" from countless students, while his coworkers called him "Skippy." A true holiday enthusiast, he delighted in baking cookies each Christmas, spreading joy to family and friends alike.

His grandchildren adored him, each believing they were his favorite, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Whether it was retreating to the camper or tinkering in the shed, Steve found happiness in simple pleasures. Known for his tireless work ethic, he often declared he had “shit to do,” always on the move. His sisters-in-law sometimes envied the lengths he would go for Sandy, as he was always ready to lend a hand or offer support.

Those Steve leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 44 years, Sandy; two children, Stacy (Scott) Nelson and their two children: Benjamin Wolf (Jalane Donath) and Abigail Wolf (Angelo Catarozzoli) and Shelly (Ryan) LaDuke and their three children: Jadon Rhoads (Marissa Neuburg), Jayce Rhoads, and Isabelle LaDuke; two sisters, Sharon Zehren and Bonnie Donahoe; two brothers, Bob (Sue) Zehren and Terry (Kris) Zehren; his mother-in-law, Carol Volm; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Debby (Dennis) Terlinden, Gwen (Jim) Schmidt, Terry (Kim) Volm, and Susie (Jerry) Herman; many dear friends and coworkers, especially his very dear friend Jim “Sack” Rowe; other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Merlin Volm and a sister, Gail Hagen.
