Sylvester "Slivers" Dreifuerst

July 13, 1915 — February 22, 2006

Sylvester S. "Slivers" Dreifuerst, age 90, of West Bend, passed away Wednesday February 22, 2006, at Cedar Bay in Cedar Community.

He was born on July 13, 1915 in St. Joe, WI, to the late Florian and Elizabeth (nee Kasper) Dreifuerst, and was united in marriage to Bette Croyle on August 20, 1938 in Racine.

Slivers worked for the former West Bend Company for 39 years as a sheet metal specialist, retiring from the model shop in 1981. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing cards, bowling, and fishing. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the highlight of his life.

He is survived by his daughter, Sandra (James) Laufer of West Bend; four grandchildren, Greg (Kathy) Anderson of Savage, MN, Linda (Kevin) Steiner of West Bend, Michele (Scott) Wuest of Oshkosh, and Jeff (Aimee) Anderson of Carmel, IN; 12 great-grandchildren, Kali Anderson, Monica Anderson, Joseph Anderson, Aaron Steiner, Elizabeth Steiner, Peter Steiner, Andrew Steiner, Emily Boegel, Hannah Boegel, Natalie Jo Boegel, Colin Anderson, and Ian Anderson; a sister Sedonia Hensen of Campbellsport; other relatives and friends. Slivers was preceded in death by his wife Bette on December 2, 2000, and a son-in-law Joel Anderson.

A Mass of Christian Burial and celebration of Slivers life will be held on Monday February 27th at 11:30 am in Holy Angels Catholic Church. Rev. John Wutscheck will be the celebrant. Visitation will be at the church only on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of Mass. A luncheon will follow the Mass after which the burial will take place in Washington County Memorial Park. Memorials to the Kathy Hospice are appreciated. Myrhum-Patten Funeral & Cremation Service of West Bend is assisting the family.
