Ted L. Griepentrog

May 4, 1939 — December 29, 2006

Ted Griepentrog, age 67, of West Bend, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2006 at St. Joseph's Hospital Synergy Health in the Town of Polk.

He was born on May 4, 1939, in West Bend, to the late Theodore and Marcella (nee Faber) Griepentrog. After high school Ted served his country by enlisting in the United States Navy. Shortly after his discharge from the Navy, he met the love of his life, Joanne Kempf. They were united in marriage on December 2, 1961 at St. John's Lutheran Church in New Fane. Ted was a Deputy Sheriff for the Washington County Sheriff's Department for over 30 years.

Ted was the greatest self-proclaimed sheepshead player in Washington County. He loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and visiting his cabin in Crivitz. He loved ice fishing on Little Cedar Lake, hunting, and watching Nascar on TV.

Ted is survived by his beloved wife, Joanne; his four loving children, Bridget (Paul) Nedden, Michelle (David) Coia, Jeffery (Kendra) Griepentrog, and Chad (Julie) Griepentrog; and his 11 cherished grandchildren, Paul and Bill Nedden, Erin Bennett, Frankie, Ian, and Loren Coia, Alex, Jack, and Matthew Griepentrog, and Jake and Olivia Griepentrog. Ted is further survived by two sisters, Susan Pechacek and Dianne (Lyn) King; a special aunt, Marie Taylor; and two sisters-in-law, Kathleen (John) Flieschman and Betty (Eugene) Ebert.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his father and mother-in-law, John and Loretta Kempf.

A memorial service in honor of Ted's life will be held on Tuesday, January 2, at 4:00 pm, at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend. Rev. George Mumm will officiate. Visitation will be at the church only on Tuesday from 2:00 pm until the time of service at 4:00 pm.
