Terra R. Smith

Terra R. Smith (Atherton), age 39 years, of Topeka, Kansas, formerly of Ontario, Ohio, was called home to be with the Lord on May 18, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.

Terra was born on October 15, 1979 in Toledo, Ohio to Charles and Mary Atherton (Merritt).

Terra went to East Rowan High School in Rockwell, North Carolina.  She was a Certified Nursing Assistant.  Terra like playing bingo and spending time with her children and family.  Terra was great at making friends; she had that special touch.  She loved being funny, goofing around, and making people laugh.

Those Terra leaves behind to cherish her memory include her two sons, Charles E. Smith of Galion, Ohio and Allen J. Smith of Ontario, Ohio; one daughter, Gina Marie Smith of Ontario, Ohio; parents, Charles and Mary; and two sisters, Maryellen (Jeff) Kindler of Alma, Nebraska and Christin (Todd) Losey of Grinnell, Kansas.  She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Terra was preceded in death by her grandparents, Benny F. and Margaret Merritt and Judy Estep and her uncle, Benny F. Merritt, Jr.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Terra’s family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff from Heartland Hospice for the loving care they provided.
