Terry A. Laatsch, 66, of West Bend found peace on Wednesday, November 08, 2023.
She was born on September 14, 1957, to Kenneth and Patricia (nee Meyer) Laatsch in Milwaukee WI. Terry grew up in Milwaukee and graduated from Milwaukee Lutheran High School. She received her BS degree from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh. Terry went on to receive her Master’s degree in reading from Concordia College. She enjoyed collecting giraffes and bells and loved decorating for Christmas.
Terry had a calling in life, and that was to help children. She always loved to babysit when she was young. She became a teacher and ultimately, because of her love of children, she became a foster parent. Terry likely had a thousand children come through her home. She would take children any time, night or day, and was always prepared with clothes for each one of them who were taken out of an unhealthy or dangerous situation. She always wanted children and ultimately adopted Alex and William through the foster care system.
Terry’s legacy will be her love of children. We are all better off because of what she contributed to this world through each child she touched. Terry loved the Lord and we know she is in the loving arms of Jesus where there are no more tears and no more pain.
Those Terry leaves behind to cherish her memory include her mother, Patricia “Pat” Shaw; two sons, Alex Laatsch and William Laatsch; two sisters, Jennifer (Ross) Thompson and Karen (Michael) Gross; two nieces, Kendall (Damon) Zito and Julia (Rich) Nichols; three nephews, Travis (fiancé Lauren) Thompson, Daniel (Nina) Gross, and Joseph Gross; many foster children; other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Laatsch and her brother, Ronald Laatsch.
