Thomas A. “Tom” Rodenkirch, 78, of Kewaskum, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at the Beechwood Rest Home in the town of Scott.
He was born on May 14, 1933, in the town of Farmington, the son of the late Nelson and Lucille “LuLu” (Weyker) Rodenkirch, and on May 6, 1952, he was united in marriage to Allyne Ramthun at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in St. Michaels.
Tom worked for the dairy business in Kewaskum for more than 40 years. He will fondly be remembered as an avid sportsmen and one who enjoyed hunting for morel mushrooms. He was also a talented woodworker crafting tables, desks, jewelry boxes, ducks, birds and many other treasured items. “Making sawdust” as he called it.
Those Tom leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of nearly 60 years, Allyne; six children, Gail (Dr. Richard) Sarnwick of Shawano, Kim (Mary) Rodenkirch of the town of Auburn, Reed (Carla) Rodenkirch of Fond du Lac, Brad (Heidi) Rodenkirch and Blake Rodenkirch (special friend, Toni Krahn) both of the town of Auburn and Lance (Michelle) Rodenkirch of Fitchburg; a brother-in-law, Eldon (Ruth “Dolly”) Ramthun of the town of Auburn; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Rodenkirch of the town of Farmington and Joanne Hilbelink of Sheboygan; ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Rodenkirch.
Private memorial graveside services were held at Peace United Church of Christ Cemetery in Kewaskum with Rev. Eric Kirkegaard officiating.
The Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum was entrusted with Tom’s arrangements.
The Rodenkirch family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Beechwood Rest Home for the compassionate care provided to Tom.
