Thomas “Tom” R. Bokelman, 72 of Newburg found peace on Thursday, March 21, 2024.
He was born on October 18, 1951, to the late James and Pearl (nee Guske) Bokelman in Milwaukee, WI. In his youth he spent most of his time outdoors developing a love for nature and animals. Hunting and hiking through the woods was often where you would find him. He was also an accomplished woodworker and skilled in building. He spent many years post-retirement volunteering for Habitat for Humanity building homes for those in need. Tom spent his later years tinkering on projects and enjoying wildlife passing through his private wooded retreat. In his own words; “I have always been an avid wildlife admirer and I worked my whole life as a Conversation Warden trying to protect animals and the environment, and I want to help them even in death.”
Those Tom leaves behind to cherish his memory include his son, Matthew (Leah) Bokelman; three granddaughters, Anneli, Eveline, and Levia Bokelman; a sister, Nancy (Mike) Mesich; a brother, James “Rick” Bokelman; three nephews, John (Olivia) Mesich, Brian (Ashley) Mesich; and David (Genevieve) Bokelman; a niece, Kristy (Brian) Carmody; other relatives and friends.
