Valeria "Val" Elizabeth Borresen

February 8, 1919 — February 19, 2025

After a good long run of 106 years, Val is now resting with Jesus.

Valeria Elizabeth Borresen (nee March) was born to Victor and Elsie (Wenzel) March in Bay View, Wisconsin. As a young girl, Val and her younger brother, Earl, worked in her father’s soda water factory washing returned bottles. She also enjoyed both roller skating and ice skating. As a young adult, she enjoyed dances at the Eagles Club. At one of these dances, she met a sharp dresser named Clyde Borresen. After that dance, she went home and told her folks she had met the man she would marry; and marry they did. Three years later, Lee arrived and four years after that Martin came along.

Val’s first job was as a secretary for an insurance company. After the children arrived, she became a full-time homemaker. She kept an immaculate home and served fabulous food. She enjoyed baking, making wonderful coffee cakes and tortes. The Norwegian Christmas cookies she made were recipes handed down from Clyde’s mother. They were a big part of the holiday traditions.

Val’s next job was caregiver to her convalescing parents. Their small home in Cedar Creek became a place of hopeful recuperation. Unfortunately, Elsie’s health declined, and Val lost her Mom and closest friend. Her dad passed on years later. Val then took on the duties of caregiver to Clyde who had several strokes. This went on for ten years until his passing. During that time, her brother Earl also passed on.

Val is survived by her son, Lee (Sue) and their children Christopher (Jennie) and Caryn (Justin). Val is also survived by son, Martin (Karen) and their sons Erik (Shanan) and Andrew (Jenna). She is further survived by six great-grandchildren.
