Velda Rose Slesarik, nee Schroeder, 92, of Adell, died Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Columbia St. Mary's Hospital - Ozaukee in Mequon.
She was born on May 20, 1920 in Wausau to the late William and Amelia (nee Lange) Schroeder. She married Paul J. Slesarik on July 29, 1942 in Providence, RI. Velda was a member of the West Bend Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and dedicated her life to service work. She also enjoyed writing poetry, sewing, gardening, and raising Chinchillas.
She is survived by four children, Susan Koehler of Grafton, Steven (Virginia) Slesarik of Adell, Amy (Daniel) Sajdowitz-Schommer of West Bend, and Daniel (Rachel) Slesarik of Madison; four grandchildren, Jason (Jamie) Koehler of Grafton, Scott (Emily) Sajdowitz of Sheboygan Falls, Ashley (Nick) Sajdowitz of West Bend, and Jena Slesarik of Adell; two great-grandsons, Ben and Griffin Koehler; her cat, Tommy; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her husband, Paul, a daughter, Wendy, and a son-in-law, Charles Koehler.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 16 at 5:00 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery in Birnamwood on Monday, March 18 at 12:00 Noon.
