Veronica M. Ohrmund "Fronnie" (nee Holz) age 99, of West Bend, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center in the town of West Bend.
"Fronnie" was born in the town of West Bend to Peter and Anna (nee Schmidt) Holz on June 5, 1915. She attended St. Matthias grade school in Nabob and graduated from West Bend High School Class of 1931. She married Oscar Ohrmund June 5, 1937 at St. Matthias Catholic Church. She was a bookkeeper for the A & P grocery store in West Bend retiring in 1972. In her free time, she enjoyed working in her flowerbeds, baking, reading, crossword puzzles and travel, which she did extensively. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. She especially loved taking care of her grandchildren.
Veronica is survived by her children, Joyce DiVall of West Bend, Roger Ohrmund of Lakeland FL, Mary (Dan) Kreis of West Bend, Gene (Karen Henning) of Cascade, and Cheryl Fehlhaber of Kewaskum; a son-in-law, Gordon Decker of Oshkosh; Grandchildren, Keith (Toni) Decker of Waupaca, Lori Decker of Monona, Jill (Jeff) Otto of Oshkosh, John DiVall of Minneapolis, MN, Jennifer (Trent) Tonn of Burlington, Sara DiVall of Seattle, WA, Peter (Theresa) Ohrmund of Lakeland, FL, Michael (Maggie) Ohrmund of Fond du lac, Sandy (Steve) Strupp of West Bend, Gail (Tom) Wenzlaff of West Bend, Karen (John) Budelman of Fond du lac, Jack (Donyale) Kreis of Kewaskum and Eric (Jenni Thorud) Laufer of Cudahy; Step grandchildren, Matthew (Jessica) Fehlhaber of Kewaskum and Amy (Riley) Logan of Rogers, AR; Great-grandchildren, Heather Decker of Neenah, Jared Decker of Oshkosh, Josephine and Gillian Tonn of Burlington, Nick and Alex Ohrmund of Lakeland, FL, Nick Strupp of Milwaukee, Joe (Sara) Strupp of Jefferson, Christopher Strupp of Wauwatosa, Jenny Wenzlaff of Milwaukee, Scott and Ryan Wenzlaff of West Bend, Elizabeth and Anna Budelman of Fond du lac, Mallory, Madeline and Daniel Kreis of Kewaskum, Cosette, Noelle, Isaiah and Nadia Fehlhaber of Kewaskum; Great-great grandchildren, Wyatt and Sawyer Strupp of Jefferson; sisters-in-law, Florence Endres of Slinger and Ruth Redlin of West Bend; her dear friends, Erin Loiselle and the Kosterman family; other family and friends.
Veronica is predeceased by her husband, Oscar; her daughter, Marlene Decker; sons, Lyle and Marvin Ohrmund; son-in-law, John DiVall; daughter-in-law, Mary Ohrmund; sister, Ann Lubner; brother, Norman Holz; six brothers-in-law; and four sisters-in-law.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 7:00 pm at Holy Angels Catholic Church (138 N. 8th Ave. West Bend). Rev. Gerald Brittain will officiate. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 4:00 pm until the time of Mass at 7:00 pm. Burial will be in Washington County Memorial Park.
