Victor W. Klug, 94, of Random Lake was peacefully called to heaven with his daughters by his side on Saturday, May 26, 2012.
Victor was born on August 17, 1917, to the late John and Louisa (Staege) Klug of the Town of Scott. He grew up on the family homestead along with two sisters and two brothers.
On May 1, 1943, Victor married Mildred Hueppchen of Cascade. Together, with love and caring for each other, they were blessed with 62 years of marriage. The couple lived and retired on the family farm in the Town of Scott. Victor was a lifelong and faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Victor was a conservationist. With a love and respect for God’s creation, he truly was a steward of the land and its wildlife.
Over the years, Victor and Mildred enjoyed fishing, playing cards and sharing conversation with extended family and wonderful friends here and in Canada.
Victor’s greatest joy was his family. He always took a keen interest in everyone’s activities with an easy smile and an encouraging comment. By quiet example, he taught kindness and gratefulness.
Victor’s memory will be cherished by two loving daughters, Karen (William) Turnquist of Green Bay and Iris Klug (Leo) Westermeijer of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and the Netherlands; an adoring granddaughter, Tera (Scott) Cox of Birmingham, Alabama and their children, William, Timothy, and Andrew; two step-grandchildren, Peter and Swetlana Westermeijer; four step-great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Doebert and Janice Hueppchen, other nieces, nephews, and extended family and dear friends.
Victor was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mildred; his daughter, Sandra; an infant son, Keith; two sisters, Annette Hintz and Edna Stange; two brothers, Raymond and Marlin; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Relatives and friends called at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Town of Scott, on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. followed by the funeral service beginning at 4 p.m. The Rev. Kurt Ziemann officiated. A committal service was held immediately thereafter in the church cemetery.
Memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Stephen Lutheran Church and Unity Hospice are appreciated.
The family is grateful for the care provided by Victor’s physicians and medical staff; the entire staff at Gables on the Pond Assisted Living, Random Lake; and Unity Hospice, De Pere. We also offer prayerful thanks to Rev. Kurt Ziemann for his spiritual guidance and support.
