Victor D. Lehr Sr., 82, of Horicon, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016, at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.

Victor was born on April 19, 1934, in Sheboygan, the son of the late Ernst and Violet (Leicht) Lehr. On September 18, 1987, he was united in marriage to Diane Henderson at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mayville. Diane preceded Victor in death on March 31, 2005.

Victor graduated in 1953 from Mayville High School and was employed at Maysteel in Mayville for 43 years, retiring in 1996. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959 in the Transportation Corps. Victor was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Horicon active in the Men’s Club and serving as an usher. He played dartball for over 40 years and enjoyed bowling, golfing, and hunting. Victor was an avid sports fan, including Mayville and Horicon High School sports, as well as the Badgers, Packers, and loved watching professional golf.

Those Victor leaves behind to cherish his memory include three children, Donna Paul (Tim Sawyer) of Wrangell, AK, Victor Jr. (Tina) Lehr of New Bern, NC, and Linda (Kevin) Schneider of Appleton; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Joan Lehr of Fond du Lac; other relatives and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, Victor was preceded in death by, a daughter, Carol Cleveland; two brothers, Ernie Lehr and Dennis Lehr.

A memorial service for Victor will be held at Noon on Thursday, October 13, 2016, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, N7074 Highway V, in Horicon. Rev. Richard Boeck will officiate and burial of his cremains will follow in the church cemetery.

Victor’s family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice Home of Hope or the Leukemia Lymphoma Society are appreciated.
