Vincent Bruni, age 83, of Mayville, found his eternal rest while surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, October 25, 2012, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
He was born on March 13, 1929, in Ceccano, Italy to the late Domenico and Antonia (nee Pizzutti) Bruni. Vincent was united in marriage to Lorraine Casalese on April 16, 1955, at St. Giovanni Catholic Church in in his home town.
In January of 1957, Vincent along with his wife Lorraine and their baby Domenic immigrated by boat to the United States. They settled in Waukesha where Vincent worked at Hein Werner for 28 years as a machinist and foreman and also had a business doing masonry jobs. He eventually built his dream home using his skills to do all the stonework. It was there that he and Lorraine raised their family and spent many happy years together. Vincent and Lorraine later sold their home and moved to Mayville to be closer to their family.
Vincent was known for his love of gardening and will be remembered by his grandchildren for his amazing fruit trees. He enjoyed watching sports, particularly soccer and football, and especially loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events.
Vincent is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Lorraine; his three children, Domenic (Jacki) Bruni of Oshkosh, Maris (Barbara) Bruni of McKinney, TX, and Maria (Patrick) Madden of Mayville; seven grandchildren, Gian and Dante Bruni, Matt Bruni, and Vincent, Spencer, Maggie, and Catherine Madden; and one great-grandchild, Dorian Bruni. He is further survived by a sister; three brothers, including a close brother Russ (Lena) Bruni, who joined him here in Wisconsin; as well as many nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Tony Bruni; a sister; and two brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial in honor of Vincent will be held on Friday, November, 2nd at 4:00 pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mayville. Father Tom Biersack will officiate. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 1:00 pm until the time of mass. Entombment will be the next day at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
