Vincent J. Wiedmeyer, age 60, of Sussex passed away on Friday, May 11, 2012 at St. Mary's Columbia Hospital in Mequon.
He was born on June 30, 1951 in West Bend to the late Vincent and Marguerite (nee Justinger) Wiedmeyer. Vince graduated from West Bend High School in the class of 1969. On April 11, 1970, he was united in marriage to Freda Peacock at Orchard Street Christian Church in West Allis. After high school, he began working at Walters Flooring in West Bend. Vince went on to work for Burgmeier Company in Wauwatosa and for a short time at Spectra Contract Flooring before he started his own business, Vinny's Commercial Flooring in Wauwatosa.
Vince was an avid Packer and Brewer fan. He loved spending time with his family, celebrating his children and special holidays especially with his grandson, Chase. His favorite pastimes included remodeling projects at home, volunteering at church and going for long scenic drives.
Above all, he was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Vince was a former member, deacon, and board member of Calvary Assembly of God in West Bend; and was currently a member, board member, and Elder of Life Church in Germantown.
Vince is survived by his loving wife, Freda Wiedmeyer of Sussex; three children, Julie (John Tobias) Ball of Minneapolis, MN, Sheri (Michael) Averill of West Bend, and Gary (FiancAC.e Kristen Schampers) Wiedmeyer of West Bend; grandson, Chase Michael Averill; two sisters, Geraldine (Dave) Gajafsky of Holman and Lynette (Mark) Fochs of Slinger; two brothers, Steven "Woody" (Theresa) Wiedmeyer of West Bend and Lee (Norma) Wiedmeyer of Branson, MO; mother-in-law, Willa Dean Hunt of Elgin, SC; sister-in-law, Patty (William) Hunt of Elgin, SC; brothers-in-law, Rev. Bobby (Diane) Renew of Harlem, GA, and Robert (Ophelia) Harriott of Cross, SC; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services in remembrance of Vincent will be held on Tuesday, May 15th at 7:00 pm at Life Church, W164 N11325 Squire Dr., Germantown. Visitation will be Tuesday at the church from 4:00 pm until the time of service.
