Viola C. Proeber

March 6, 1932 — December 11, 2006

Viola C. Proeber, nee Kurtz, age 74, of the town of Wayne, passed away Monday, December 11, 2006 at Kathy Hospice.

She was born on March 6, 1932 in West Bend to the late Peter and Alinda (nee Schachameier) Kurtz. Viola graduated from West Bend High School in the class of 1950. She then started working as an office secretary for Pick Manufacturing. On June 19, 1954 Viola was united in marriage to Howard Proeber at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in West Bend. Together they farmed in the town of Wayne and raised their family.

Viola was a life member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, a member of the Washington County Farm Bureau and the Wisconsin Holstein Association. Viola was dedicated to her family and friends, and all who knew her realized her sincere devotion to those people and things she held most dear.

She is survived by her husband, Howard; three children, Nancy (Melvin) Abel of Greenwood, Steven Proeber of town of Wayne, and Carol (Richard) Bundsgaard of Fayetteville, AR; four grandchildren, Adam Abel, Rebekah (Adam) Dorwaldt, Valerie Bundsgaard, and Kimberly Bundsgaard; a brother, Leonard (Norma) Kurtz of Neillsville, a sister-in-law, Lucille Jacklin of West Bend; and special friend, Kathy; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two infant brothers; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Alfred and Alice Proeber; and a brother-in-law, Elroy Jacklin.

Funeral services for Viola will be held on Thursday, December 14th at 6:00 pm at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. Rev. George Mumm and Rev. Cal Seban will co-officiate. Visitation will be Thursday at the church only from 3:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will be in Washington County Memorial Park on Friday at 10:00 am.

Memorials may be given to St. John's Church, the Bethesda Lutheran Home in Watertown, or Kathy Hospice.
