Violet R. Groth (nee Klumb), age 98, of West Bend passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at the Samaritan Health Center in West Bend.
She was born on April 18, 1911 in Rockfield, to the late Albert and Elsie (nee Lambrecht) Klumb. On June 10, 1933, Violet was united in marriage to Harold Groth at Christ Evangelical Church in Dheinsville. Together they farmed in the town of Polk. Harold passed away on August 29, 1978. Violet was a member of New Hope United Church of Christ in Jackson. She also enjoyed gardening.
Violet is survived by two children, Harold (Joanna) Groth of Jackson and Rochelle (Marvin) Stoffel of West Bend; nine grandchildren, Suzette (Harold) Schuetz, Sandra Held, Tim (Terry) Groth, Tom (Tracy) Groth, Terry (Chris) Groth, Gary (Melissa) Stoffel, Scott (Sue) Stoffel, Colleen Stoffel, and Curt (Amy) Stoffel; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Evelyn Klumb; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; three brothers, Lester Klumb, Harold (Vi) Klumb, Oliver (Katherine) Klumb; sister, Lorraine Woldt; great-grandson, Jeffery Stoffel and step-mother Irene Klumb (nee Carstens).
Funeral services in remembrance of Violet will be held on Saturday, June 27th at 4:00 p.m. at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home (1315 W. Washington St.) West Bend. Rev. Howard Kusler will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be Monday, June 29th at 2:00 p.m. in Washington County Memorial Park.
