Violet was born on May 16, 1930, in Waukesha, the daughter of the late William and Clara (Zieher) Otto. She graduated from Waukesha High School in 1948 and started working at a CPA in Waukesha. Violet also played saxophone in her parents Orchestra in and around the Waukesha Area. Violet married Robert F. King on January 14, 1950, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waukesha.
After their first child was born Violet said “I got the best job in the world, a stay at home mom.” Violet and Robert were blessed with four more children. In 1965 they moved to Lomira and owned King’s Trading Post. After selling the store Violet and Robert moved to Washburn, WI, for a year and a half, then they returned to Lomira where they lived the next 37 years on Sunrise Avenue.
Violet was a long time member of St. John’s Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the election board for the Village of Lomira for over 30 years.
Violet and Robert enjoyed spending their winter months in Galveston, Texas during their retirement years. Their greatest joy though was spending time with their family, especially attending their grandchildren’s sporting events. Family was the greatest joy of all.

In addition to her parents and husband, Violet was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Richard Fochs; two brothers-in-law, Bud (Mae) King and Al King and two sisters-in-law, Shirley Otto and Lorraine Paroubek.
