Virginia A. Heleniak ( nee Leszczynski), 86, of West Bend, found happiness on Sunday August 31, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital, West Bend.
She was born on November 29, 1927 to the late Peter and Praxedes "Sadie" Leszczynski in Chicago IL. She graduated from Pulaski high school in 1945. On June 1, 1949 she was united in marriage to Daniel Heleniak at St. Helen's Catholic Church, Milwaukee. She lived in Milwaukee until moving to Madison in 1974. She came to Cedar Community in 2005. Virginia was very active at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Madison. She did a lot of community service. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, butter pecan ice cream from Babcock Hall, and bagels from Bagels Forever.
She is survived by her two children, Michael (Kathy) Heleniak and William Heleniak; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Matthew) Robrahn, Matthew Heleniak, William Heleniak Jr., and Ryan Heleniak; one great-grandchild, Lucas Robrahn; a brother in law, Richard (Marilyn) Heleniak; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Daniel Heleniak. A Mass of Christian Burial in remembrance of Virginia will be held on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 10:30 am Holy Angels Catholic Church (138 N. 8th Ave) West Bend. Father Gerald Brittain will officiate. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 9:30 am until the time of Mass. Entombment will be held at St. Adalbert's Cemetery, Milwaukee.
