Virginia E. Schwittau, nee Hartman, age 89 of Germantown, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2011 at Horizon Hospice in Mequon.
She was born on July 11, 1922 in Milwaukee to the late Joseph and Pauline (nee Krick) Hartman. On July 10, 1943, Virginia was united in marriage to Frank Schwittau in Milwaukee. Frank preceded her in death on September 20, 1987.
In Virginia's earlier years, she worked as a sales clerk for J.C. Penney and also as a file clerk for Etna Insurance Company.
Virginia is survived by her son, Michael (Mary) Schwittau of West Bend; two grandchildren, Mark Schwittau of Germantown and Kim (Timothy) Struck of Milwaukee; two great-grandchildren, Monica and Matthew Struck; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; sister, Katherine Bublitz and brother, Robert Hartman.
A memorial service in remembrance of Virginia will be held on Friday, November 25th at 3:00 pm at Benediction Lutheran Church, 8475 W. Fond du Lac Avenue Milwaukee, with Pastor Don Hougard officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 1:00 pm until the time of the service. Private family inurnment will take place in Highland Memorial Park, New Berlin.
