Virginia "Ginni" Verthein

Virginia “Ginni” Verthein, 72, of West Bend, passed away on July 13, 2024, at Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk with her family at her side.

Ginni was born on January 3, 1952, in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late George Jr. and Genevieve (nee Malmarowski) Johnson. Ginni was a resident at Cedar Ridge in West Bend where she made many friends and loved the nature there. Ginni’s family was everything to her. She was nicknamed the “Family Dr. Phil”.

Those Ginni leaves behind to cherish her memory include her son, James (Lori) Verthein; a grandson, Nathan Verthein; her siblings, Michael (Bonny) Johnson, Patti (Dennis) Lange, Greg (Sherry) Johnson, Roger (Shawne) Johnson, and Nancy (Chuck) Roessler; a sister-in-law, Millie Johnson; multitude of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Ginni was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon and Jeff Johnson.

VISITATION: Ginni’s family will greet relatives and friends at the Myrhum – Patten Funeral & Cremation Center, 1315 W. Washington Street, in West Bend, on Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

SERVICE: A service for Ginni will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Shalom Wildlife Center where she enjoyed going often or to Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt appreciation to Kathy Hospice for all the care they provided to Ginni.
