Karstedt, Virginia A., “Ginny” (nee Neubert) passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at age 93 in West Bend, Wisconsin.
She raised her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren with a mission to fill the world with love, generosity and compassion. Her home was always a refuge for those struggling – and her heart, a welcome mat to anyone who needed to know that they were loved.
Her laughter was the biggest sound in any room. Angels are giddy at this moment from the roaring uplift of Ginny’s contagious laugh.
She often said, “Don’t talk like a sausage”. It usually meant, “don’t be silly,” she was going to help us with anything no matter the sacrifice.
She was born July 22, 1930. And married for 65 years to Kenneth Herman Karstedt who passed in 2015. Ginny was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia, her parents, Henry and Frances (nee Gross) Neubert, her twin brother Hank and her sisters, Mary and Shirley. She is survived by her sisters, Judith and Dorothy. Her sister Joan just passed away Saturday, 3/16/24.
Ken and Ginny had eleven children together: Kathleen (David) Aragon, Patricia Karstedt, Kristine (Paul) Hauser, Kenneth Karstedt Jr. (Vicki Pauly), Kevin (Katherine) Karstedt, Karen (Chuck) O’Meara, Kip (Natalie) Karstedt, Mary (Tim) Galante, Louise (Tim) Kissel, Mark (Marta) Karstedt, Meg Michaelson. They had 30 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She had many great, life-long friends that were also like family to her.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 10:00am until 11:45am at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 138 N. 8th Ave., West Bend, WI. A Memorial Mass will follow the visitation at the church at noon. Burial will follow for immediate family at Washington County Memorial Park.
