Vivian E. Vetter

Vivian E. Vetter, 89, of the town of Scott, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2011, at Ivy Manor in Campbellsport.


She was born on June 12, 1922, in her grandparent’s home in the town of Scott, the daughter of the late Arthur and Martha (Hintz) Staege, and on September 14, 1940, she was united in marriage to Leland Vetter at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Scott. Leland preceded Vivian in death on January 7, 1992.


Vivian was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Scott and the Ladies Guild. Some of her favorite past times included word search games, playing Yahtzee, embroidering towels and picking out hickory nuts. Vivian loved her grandchildren, gardening, cooking and enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino. She will be deeply missed by her family and by all who knew her.


Those Vivian leaves behind to cherish her memory include eight children, Gerald (Carol) Vetter of Beechwood, Dennis (Jeanette) Vetter of Iron River, Dale Vetter of Beechwood, Jeaneen (John) Kudek of Kewaskum, Gloria (Joseph) Boden of Black River Falls, Gelane (Carl) Firme of Sun Prairie, Elaine (Frank) Poos of Beechwood and Diane (Jack) Jaeger of Campbellsport; 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


In addition to her husband and parents, Vivian was preceded in death by two sisters, Veila (Ruben) Vetter and Virginia “Ginny” (Armin) Oppermann; a brother, Vernon (Inez) Staege; a grandson, Joseph Boden Jr. and a brother-in-law, Raymond (Lillian) Vetter.


Funeral services for Vivian were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2011, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in the town of Scott. Rev. Kurt Ziemann officiated and burial followed in the church cemetery.


Relatives and friends called at the church on Friday from noon until the time of service.


Memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church are appreciated by the family.


The Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum was entrusted with Vivian’s arrangements.


The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Ivy Manor and Heartland Hospice for the tender care provided to Vivian, to Pastor Ziemann for all his prayers and visits and to Zeke for his songs.
