Walter D. Braun, 77, of West Bend, entered Eternal Life on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Community Memorial Hospital, Menomonee Falls.
He was born on March 10, 1937 to the late Walter R. and Alma (nee Steffen) Braun in Milwaukee. He worked for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel for many years. He liked watching sports, reading books, and listening to "his" music. He enjoyed boating and swimming on Long Lake at his house trailer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Rosemarie; six children, Jeffery (Carolyn Eberhardt) Braun, Steve (Amy) Braun, Jim (Tracey) Braun, Suzanne (John) Gerovac, Robert Braun, and Randy (Shelly) Braun; thirteen grandchildren, Jocelyn (Matt) Bilski, Erin Buschke, Jenna Braun, Elizabeth Brown, David Brown, John Gerovac, Kevin Gerovac, Anthony Braun, Joshua Braun, Joseph Braun, Michael Braun, Dylan Braun, and Emily Braun; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth (Ed) Schiefelbein; two brothers in law, Louis (Ida) Habenicht and Robert (Seidy) Habenicht; sister in law, Karenann (Jose) Acevado; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Stephanie Gerovac; and brother in law, Frank Habenicht.
A funeral service in remembrance of Walter will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 4:00 pm at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W Washington St, West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2:00 pm until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated.
