Walter Martin Pamperin, Town of Wayne, 81, died peacefully at home on Thursday, Sept 17, 2009.
He was born November 14, 1927, on the family farm in the town of Wayne, the son of the late John and Frieda Pamperin. Walter graduated from Kewaskum High School in 1945. He continued working on the family farm after purchasing it in 1960.
On May 21, 1960, Walter was united in marriage to Sandra Diana Borland at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Allenton.
Walter bowled on a league for many years and enjoyed watching "The Bowling Game" on television. He was a former member of the Kohlsville Fire Dept. He had a particular interest in planting, nurturing and selling pumpkins. He kept a fairly "weed free" garden after retiring from farming, something his children hardly ever managed to do while they were still living at home.
Walter was a devout Lutheran, being baptized, confirmed and married at Zion Church, and he served on the church council for many years, also serving on many church committees. He was the church bell ringer for many years and was responsible for tolling the bells at a church member's death. He endeavored to instill religion in his children's lives as a basis for a good family foundation.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra, one son and six daughters; Ginger (Frank) Boldt of West Bend, Jeffrey (Barb) Pamperin of West Bend, Laura (Peter) Boldt of Oostburg, Joy Pamperin of Juneau, Debra Pamperin of West Bend, Stacey (Brent) Boegel of Kewaskum, and Lisa (Jamie) Heise of West Bend. Six grand-children: Angela and Kyle Pamperin; Travis, Heather and Ryan Boldt; and Brianna Boegel. He is further survived by two brothers Ray (Marlene) Pamperin of Manawa and Kurt (Karyn) Pamperin of New London, two sisters Margaret Nielsen of Stevens Point, Marie (Al) Schaefer of Allenton, and one sister-in-law Ellen Pamperin of Madison. He is also survived by his father-in-law Byron Borland of Viroqua, two brothers-in-law John Borland of Kewaskum and Buddy Borland.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law Doris Borland, one brother John Pamperin and a brother-in-law Ivan Nielsen.
Family and friends may call at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6430 Hwy D, Allenton, Sunday, Sept 20, 2009, from 1 to 4 p.m. with funeral services at 4 p.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Robert Gibson, the 3rd floor nursing staff, and the intensive care staff at St. Joseph's Hospital in West Bend for their care and compassion.
