Walter "Ron" Spieth

Walter R. "Ron" Spieth, age 77, of West Bend, was called home to be with his Lord and other loved ones, including his granddaughter, on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at his home.

He was born on May 3, 1936 in Detroit, MI to the late William "Hank" and Dorothy (nee Rudick) Spieth. He was united in marriage to Harriet Williams on March 8, 1958 in Waynsville, MO, and after their marriage the couple lived in Escanaba, MI. In 1962 they moved to Milwaukee and then in 1965 they moved to Port Washington, where they lived until moving to West Bend in 1993.

Ron served our country in the U.S. Army. His career was in sales management and he retired from American Home Products. After retiring, Ron worked with his son-in-law, Gary, at Ducksback Auto Detailing and later worked part-time at Menards.

Ron would go anywhere and would do anything for anyone, especially his family. He enjoyed woodworking, golf, traveling, and gambling. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, West Bend.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Harriet; six children, Irene (Dar) Gager of Marquette, MI, Mike Spieth of Sante Fe, NM, Marge Spieth of West Bend, Ron (Jeanette) Spieth of West Bend, Matt (Anne) Spieth of Plymouth, and Jennifer (Gary) Lorenz of Cascade; 10 grandchildren, Allison Gager, Nick Keller, Mandy Keller, Mara Keller, Jeff Spieth, Amie Spieth, Leah Spieth, Chris Spieth, Erin Spieth, and Tanner Lorenz; a brother-in-law, Michael (Pat) Williams of Florida; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hank and Dorothy Spieth, a granddaughter, McKenna Lorenz, his parents-in-law, Brendan and Margaret Williams, and a sister-in-law, Mary Williams.

Funeral services in remembrance of Ron will be held on Saturday, October 12th at 2:00 pm at the Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend, with Rev. Gerald Brittian officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service.
