Walter Spradau

May 2, 1933 — March 22, 2012

Walter A. "Wally" Spradau, 78 of Kewaskum, formerly of Jackson, died Thursday March 22, 2012 at Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls.

He was born on May 2, 1933 at the family home in the town of Ashford to the late Walter F. and Esther (nee Krueger) Spradau. He married Sharon Jordan on June 14, 1958 in Lomira.

Walter served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 and was a member of the Germantown American Legion Post #1. He was employed at the Gehl Company in West Bend for 13 years and then at Briggs and Stratton Corp. on Wauwatosa for 13 years until his retirement. He was a member of New Hope United Church of Christ in Jackson.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; two sisters, Mae (special friend Bob Beisbier) Spradau of Kewaskum, and Sandy (Jim) Stroh of Eden; a brother, Roger Spradau of West Bend; five sisters-in-law, Julienne Smith of Racine, Florence Jordan of Racine, Lou Ann Gudex of Campbellsport, Marjory Jahn of North Fond du Lac, and Judy (Jim) Geib of Cascade; two brothers-in-law, Norbert Theisen of Campbellsport, and Joe (Jane) Seis of DePere; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kenny Spradau.

A memorial service in remembrance of Walter will be held on Saturday, April 14 at 3:00 p.m. at New Hope United Church of Christ, 4360 Jackson Dr., Jackson, WI. Rev. Jim Hill will officiate and inurnment of Wally's cremated remains will be in Peace Cemetery in Jackson. Visitation will be at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.

Per Walter's wishes, no flowers or plants please. Memorials to New Hope United Church of Christ would be appreciated.
