Walter "Big Wally" E. Weiterman Jr., 84, of Milwaukee, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 7, 2015 at Cedar Lake Home, West Bend.
He was born on July 29, 1930 to the late Walter and Hattie (nee Strege) Weiterman Sr. in Milwaukee WI. He grew up in Sturgeon Bay WI until they moved to Milwaukee at the age of 15. He served honorable in the United States Army during the Korean War. On August 5, 1950 he was united in marriage to Rosemary Fischer in Milwaukee WI. He built his own home in Milwaukee where they raised their family and lived his entire life. He worked as a furniture refinisher for Boston Store for 45 years. He loved fishing, hunting, and was an avid horseshoe player. He enjoyed going up north to his cabin and enjoying the outdoors.
He is survived by his four children, Christine (John) Moravetz of Ashland WI., Janine (Peter Wiklin) Fritsche of Mequon, Richard (Patricia) Weiterman of West Bend, and Marlene (David) Wallace of Jackson; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother in law, Clifford Teich of Egg Harbor WI; other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosemary; two sisters, Donna (Ellsworth) Ehlers and Betty Teich.
A funeral service in remembrance of Walter will be held on Friday February 13 at 6:00 pm at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will be on Saturday February 14 at 11:00 am at Washington County Memorial Park.
