Wayne A. Schowalter, 68, of Jackson, found peace Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk after a long battle with cancer.
He was born on April 20, 1944 in Montgomery, AL to the late Harold and Beatrice (nee O'Connor) Schowalter. He graduated from Germantown High School in 1962.
Wayne was a sheet metal worker at Dostal & Lowey in Menomonee Falls for over 40 years
During his life Wayne enjoyed trap shooting, hunting, golfing, playing pool and in his later years gardening and cooking. Wayne was a kind soul and will be deeply missed by many family and friends.
He is survived by two children, Keith Schowalter of Richfield, and Tracy (Mike) Gokey of Jackson; six grandchildren, Kevin, Jessica, Karah, Brandon, Jakob, and McKenna; two sisters, Kathryn Schowalter of Random Lake, Connie (Ben) Hamilton of Boise, ID; two brothers, Mike (Bonnie) Schowalter of Hartford, and Jeff (Tammy) Schowalter of Waynesboro, PA; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Beatrice Schowalter.
A memorial service in remembrance of Wayne will be held on Saturday at 4:00 pm at the Myrhum - Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend. Rev. Paul Mittermaier of St. John's Lutheran Church, Jackson,will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 2:00 pm until the time of service.
