Wilbert J. Ruplinger, 90, of West Bend, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at the Lighthouse, West Bend.
He was born on February 26, 1925 to the late Arthur and Crescentia “Grace” (nee Feucht) in the town of Wayne, WI. Wilbert proudly served in the United States Army during World War II from February 1945 to February 1946. He served in Central Europe as truck driver Light 345. He was in Company A – 66 SIG – BN – Private First Class. Wilbert worked at American Motors as a foreman in the paint shop. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on small engines. He loved music and playing the accordion.
He is survived by his daughter, Marlene (Dennis) Bechler; son, Ken (Sharon (Limbach) Ruplinger; two brothers, Marvin (Carol) Ruplinger and Sylvester (Nancy) Ruplinger; sister in law, Angeline Ruplinger; brother in law, Ron Lauters; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Roland (Victoria) Ruplinger and Richard Ruplinger; and sister, Crescentia (Chris) Lauters.
A Memorial service in remembrance of Wilbert will be held on Monday, August 24, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, (1315 W. Washington St.) West Bend, with Military Honors to follow. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday from 9:30 am until the time of service. Inurnment of his cremated remains will be on Tuesday, August 25 at 11:00 am at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
