Wilbur "Bill" Redlin

February 9, 1923 — December 21, 2013

Wilbur F. Redlin "Bill", 90 years, of West Bend, entered eternal peace at the Kathy Hospice on Saturday, December 21, 2013 with his loving wife and children at his side.

Wilbur was born on February 9, 1923 in the town of Rubicon the son of Arnold and Florence E. (nee Lepien) Redlin. He was a 1940 graduate of Hartford High School. He served his country in WWII from 1942 through 1948 in the U.S. Navy as a HM1C (Hospital Corpsman First Class) in the Pacific Theater aboard the L.S.T. 777. He also served six months of active duty during the Korean conflict. On August 10, 1948 he married his loving wife Ruth Anna Ohrmund at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Wilbur was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church of Big Cedar Lake, V.F.W. Post #3358 of Slinger, and since 1952 a member of the Milwaukee Roofers Union #65. He worked for Langer Roofing and Sheet Metal Co. of Milwaukee for over 30 years.

He loved deer and turkey hunting in Shawano with his dear friends Harley and Alice Koehler. He also enjoyed fishing for bass on Big Cedar Lake, playing cards, bowling, snowmobiling, playing dart ball, and participating in many other outdoor activities. He especially loved spending time and traveling with his wife, children, grandchildren, and his wonderful great-grandchildren.

Wilbur will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 65 years, Ruth; his children, Karen (Lou) Goetzinger of Slinger, Mark Redlin of Watertown, and Bonnie (Thomas) Forsberg of West Bend; four grandchildren, Jason (Renee) Lisko, Adam Redlin, Thomas (Joli) Forsberg, and Tanya (Paul) Wolfgram; four great-grandchildren, Keira and Bradyn Lisko, Summer Ann Forsberg, and Lanna Wolfgram; a step great-granddaughter, Sadie Zeiske; a sister, Joyce Mittelstadt of Hartford; two sisters-in-law, Florence Endres of Slinger and Veronica Ohrmund of West Bend; and many other close relatives and dear friends.

Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Florence Redlin; his parents-in-law, Albert and Lena Ohrmund; eight brothers-in-law, and seven sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 12:00 pm at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church (4115 German Village Rd. West Bend). Rev. Paul Reede will officiate and burial will be in Washington County Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 9:00 am until the time of service at noon.

Memorials to St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church would be greatly appreciated by the family.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Pastor Paul Reede for all his prayers and visits and to Dr. Gary Herdrich as well as the nurses, and staff of St. Joseph's Hospital and the Kathy Hospice for all the care they have given to Wilbur through his illness.
