William K. “Bill” Geidel, 71, of Kewaskum, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2010, at Kettle Moraine Gardens in Kewaskum with his family at his side.
He was born on March 31, 1939, in Ashford, the son of the late Franklin and Della (Miller) Geidel, and on January 20, 1962, he was united in marriage to Judith “Judy” Marx at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Kewaskum.
Bill was a 1957 graduate of Campbellsport High School. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army from 1957 to 1959 and was stationed in Hawaii. From 1959 to 1976, Bill was employed by General Telephone as an installer/repairman. During his employment, Bill installed the 1,000th phone in Kewaskum. In 1976, Bill and Judy purchased the Sentry Foods store in Kewaskum, which they managed until retiring in 2000.
Bill was a member of the Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post 384 Kewaskum, Peace United Church of Christ in Kewaskum and a long time member of the Kewaskum Lions Club.
Bill was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Those Bill leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 48 years, Judy; three children, Mike Geidel (fiancée, Debbie Schneider) of Kewaskum, Becky (Doug) Hammes and Angie (John) Tennies both of Campbellsport; eight grandchildren, Sarah (Robert) Tye, Kayla (Bill) Kumrow, Ethan Geidel, Paige and Brynn Hammes, Nicole, Tessa and Jaelle Tennies; three great-grandsons, Wyatt and Sawyer Tye and Liam Kumrow; a brother, Ronald (Thelma) Geidel of Oakfield; two sisters, Delores (Ken) Jandre of New Prospect and Janet (Don) Mielke of Milwaukee; two sisters-in-law, Susan (Ervin) Waala and Mary Laatsch both of Kewaskum, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many good friends.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, James Marx and Lloyd Laatsch.
In honor of his wishes, private funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at the Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum. Rev. Eric Kirkegaard officiated and burial, with military honor graveside rites by members of the Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post 384 Kewaskum, followed the service in Union Cemetery in Campbellsport.
