William D. “Mac” McDonald, 86, of Kewaskum, found peace and rest on Monday, April 29, 2013.
He was born on April 24, 1927, in Oconomowoc, the son of the late Edwin and Isabel (Pilgrim) McDonald, and on March 14, 1953, he was united in marriage to Valera Kraus in Milwaukee.
Mac served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was a life-long member of the Robert G. Romaine American Legion Post 384 Kewaskum, the Triple Eye Shrine, the Garfield Lodge and was a 32 nd degree mason. Mac and Valera were the owners and operators of Rustic Inn in Kewaskum, and he was a single-engine pilot.
Those Mac leaves behind to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 60 years, Valera; a son, William (Diane) McDonald of the town of Sheboygan; three grandchildren, William D. McDonald III, Ashley E. McDonald and Mitchell P. McDonald, other relatives, friends and customers.
In addition to his parents, Mac was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen.
Funeral services for Mac were held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2013, at the Miller Funeral Home in Kewaskum. Entombment was at 1:00 p.m. on Friday in Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.
The McDonald family greeted relatives and friends on Thursday at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services.
