William T. Russell

William T. Russell, age 91, of West Bend, passed away Wednesday July 21, 2010 at the Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on November 2, 1918 in Fond du Lac to the late Leo and Helen Russell. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army European Theater during World War II. On January 12, 1946 he was united in marriage to Evelynne Rauen.

William worked in sales for Sears until his retirement in 1981. He was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. He was also a member and past commander of the Fred A. Schaefer VFW Post #1393, the Lion's Club where he earned the Melvin Jones Fellow Award, Dedicated Humanitarian Award and Lifetime Member Award. William also belonged to the Main Street Coffee Club. He was an avid sportsman and hunter in Wisconsin and out West. He enjoyed cooking the food he caught. William also loved reading about history.

He is survived by his wife, Evelynne; three children, William B. (Joan) Russell of West Bend, Kristin Russell of Janesville, and Michael (Lynn) Russell of Loveland, CO; five grandchildren, Brian (Karen) Russell, Renee (Nate) Wagner, Matthew (Amanda) Russell, David (Rosalinda Baca) Russell, and Amie (Simon Hoepfner) Russell; seven great-grandchildren, Hayden, Ella, Liam, and Kaleb Wagner, Bohdi and Lilly Hoepfner and Kyla Russell; other relatives and friends.

A Memorial service in remembrance of William will be held on Friday, July 23rd at 6:00 pm at the Myrhum ~ Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington Street. Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 3:30 pm until the time of the service.
