Willmer M. Herman, age 90, of the Town of Wayne, passed away Monday August 4, 2014 at Cedar Community Health & Rehabilitation.
He was born on June 29, 1924 on the family homestead farm in the Town of Wayne to the late Valentine and Hulda (nee Hahn) Herman, and was united in marriage to Alice Wiedmeyer on October 4, 1948 at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Nenno. Together they farmed in the Town of Wayne until retiring in 1979.
Willmer was a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Kohlsville, and a long time member of the Kohlsville Fire Department, serving as it's Chief for 29 years. He enjoyed cards (skat), woodworking, putting puzzles together, and dancing.
He is survived by two sons, David (Sue) Herman of Kohlsville, and Jerry (Susie) Herman of Kewaskum; five grandsons, Tim (Tracy) Herman, Keith (Bonnie) Herman, Ryan (Missy) Herman, Scott (Jamie) Herman, and Brandon Herman; 11 great- grandchildren, Teagan, Tierney, Kyra, Brady, Alyce, Maxwell, Samuel, Ella, Trent, Karlee, and Wyatt, and; three sisters-in-law, Mildred Weiland of Campbellsport, Rosemary Bonlender of Allenton, and Clara Wiedmeyer of Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; two brothers, Erwin Herman, and Raymond Herman; seven Sisters-in-law, Katherine Herman, Hazel Herman, Hilda Brodzeller, Theresa Hembel, Florence Wiedmeyer, Bernice Wiedmeyer, and Rita Weisner; seven brothers-in-law, Gilbert Brodzeller, John Hembel, Ray Wiedmeyer, Frank Wiedmeyer Jr., Leonard Wiedmeyer, Harold Wiedmeyer, and Norbert Weiland.
Funeral Services in remembrance of Willmer will be held on Saturday August 9th at 12:00 (noon) at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church (6438 HWY D, Allenton). Rev. Steve Bode will officiate. Burial will follow in Zion Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of service.
Memorials to Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Cedar Community, or the Kohlsville Fire Department are appreciated by the family. The family wishes to thank Cedar Community, especially to all Countryside nurses and aids for all the loving care extended to Willmer.
