Wynand L. Paulus Jr

December 22, 1936 — November 8, 2005

Wynand L. Paulus Jr., age 68, of West Bend, died Tuesday November 8, 2005 at the Cedar Lake Health Care Center.

He was born on December 22, 1936 in the Town of Trenton to the late Wynand L. and Clara (nee Kircher) Paulus Sr. He attended St. Mary's Grade School and then went to a technical trade school. Wynand served in the U.S. Army from 1960-1963 and then on May 8, 1965 he was united in marriage to Mary Bodden at St. Kilian Catholic Church in St. Kilian.

He worked at the former Line Material Co. in Barton for many years and then at Milwaukee Seasoning in Germantown until retiring in 1992. Wynand could fix anything and everything, many times without directions.

Wynand was an active member of St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Parish in West Bend, and the St. Joseph's Society. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing, and before he was married he enjoyed riding his Harley with friends and touring the country.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; two daughters, Clarissa (Phil) DeYoung of Allenton, and Deanna (Tim) Einwalter of Mequon; two grandchildren, Caleb & Colin DeYoung; a brother, Herman (Mary Ann) Paulus of West Bend; other relatives and many friends.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday November 11th at 7:00 pm at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Parish, West Bend. Rev. Michael Moran will be the celebrant. Visitation will be Friday at the church from 4:00 pm until 6:30 pm. Wynand's cremated remains will be buried on Saturday at 10:00 am in St. Mary's Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the third floor nurses at St. Joseph's Community Hospital, Dr. Vukelich, Dr. Griswold, Dr. Radtke, and Cedar Community Chestnut unit nurses, for the wonderful care extended to Wynand.
